The first day of riding awaits us 40km of single trail on the ridge, ↑1550m and ↓ 1300m
The second day awaits us over ↓1800 m downhill and 38km of single trail
On Friday night we will sleep in a 3* Agriturismo in Castelnuovo. The 2nd night instead we will be in a Refuge at over 1500m altitude!
As an extra, we offer a transfer service from Pisa airport to Castelnuovo in Garfagnana

GARFAGNANA:
THE PERFECT PLAYGROUND FOR MOUNTAIN BIKING
Garfagnana is located in the northernmost and wildest area of Tuscany, embracing most of the Appenino Tosco-Emiliano National Park. In the last 10 years, thanks to the regular contribution of local builders, hundreds of Single Trails have been opened in the region, creating a real ecosystem linked to Mountabike. However, Garfagnana has not become denaturalized as has happened in the vicinity of many Bike Parks, but has maintained its authenticity and character.
WHAT AWAITS YOU
The adventure we have created consists of a fiery weekend dedicated to Mountain Biking. Breathtaking ridges, endless single trails and a night in a refuge at over 1400m above sea level await us!
Unfortunately for this tour we only provide shuttle assistance for departure and return, but not luggage transport to the refuge.
The trails we will travel are of difficulty S2 with S3 sections and in a couple of places it will be necessary to push the bike.
LOGISTICS AND PREREQUISITES FOR PARTICIPATION
The starting and ending point of this mountain bike adventure is Castelnuovo in Garfagnana, in the province of Lucca, Tuscany, a 90 minute drive from La Spezia.
Arrival is scheduled for Friday evening/late afternoon directly at the 3* agriturismo in Castelnuovo where you will meet your travel companions and the guide Marco. Two days of intense Apennine riding await us where we will ride over 90 km of breathtaking single trail.
To fully enjoy this tour you need to have excellent technical and physical preparation, as it is of Advanced difficulty. It is mandatory to have a full E-MTB with at least 150mm of travel and a large battery.
It is also possible to rent new Scott Genius enduro bikes for the entire duration of the tour. We will have days of riding with 1000+ meters of elevation gain on technical and rocky trails (S2 with S3 sections).

During this tour we will have the opportunity to taste the delicious Tuscan cuisine and the specialties of the food and wine culture of Garfagnana
In the morning we will enjoy a hearty continental breakfast, while at the end of the day awaits you with a grand multi-course dinner. Perfect for recharging your batteries after a day of intense riding!
TOUR STAGES:
1. STAGE: FROM MONTE TONDO TO THE CASONE DI PROFECCHIA
44km ↑1550m and ↓ 1300m
Thanks to the assistance of our dedicated shuttle with bike trailer, we will limit the long climbs on asphalt as much as possible, focusing instead on the Apennine single trails that follow the crest and breathtaking descent!
The first day of riding is definitely the most intense and rewarding. We will almost always be above 1400m of altitude, even touching 2000m.
THE RIDGELINE
For lunch we will stop at one of the many refuges located along the route, where, if necessary, it is possible to charge the E-Bikes.
The trails that await you are not exposed, however they require excellent balance and good technical preparation. Depending on the level of the group, the difficulty of the trails can be varied. The most daring can conquer Monte Prado located at 2054m.
Arrival is scheduled for approximately 4.00 pm at Casone di Profecchia located at 1400m above sea level.
2. STAGE: FROM CASONE DI PROFECCHIA TO CASTELNUOVO
43km ↑770m and ↓ 1800m
On this second day of riding we will continue along the ridge along the border between Tuscany and Emilia Romagna towards Passo della Porticciola. The trails that await us will be less technical than the previous day, almost never exceeding the S2 grade. Once we descend in altitude we will enter a thick birch forest, where a series of natural single trails begin with sections of S3 level.

From Casone di Profecchia to Castelnuovo in Garfagnana there is over 1800m of negative altitude difference between paths on the crest and in the woods of Garfagnana.
Depending on the group's ability and tiredness, our guide Marco will be able to suggest numerous variations: from the most flowy and beaten single trails to the most technical and impervious ones. The return to Castelnuovo is scheduled for around 3:00 pm.
